About Tsigai SheepAbout Tsigai Sheep

Tsigai sheep, originating in Southeast Europe, have been traditionally raised for both meat and milk production. This versatile breed exhibits various variations across different populations.

Throughout their history, Tsigai populations have undergone improvement efforts through crossbreeding with Merino and British meat breeds. These breeding programs aimed to enhance certain desirable traits, such as wool quality, meat yield, and overall productivity.

Characteristic of the Tsigai breed is their long tails, a feature that distinguishes them from other sheep breeds. Despite variations in appearance and genetic influences, Tsigai sheep are renowned for their proficiency as both meat and milk producers. Their adaptability to diverse environmental conditions and their ability to thrive in agricultural settings make them valuable assets to livestock farming communities.
