Giza White rabbits are small to medium-sized rabbits, 5–8 pounds, and originated in Egypt. In 1932, 2 Baladi rabbits were bred by the Animal Breeding Department at Cairo University, Giza, Egypt. The original Giza White rabbit came in white, black, gray, and blue. In 1937, systematic breeding took place and created the rabbit only with an albino type of fur. It had a faster rate of growth and a larger litter size. The Giza White improved and replaced the Giza rabbit.
