About American Spotted Paso HorsesAbout American Spotted Paso Horses

American Spotted Paso horses are the American version of thernPeruvian Peso horse. One of the main goals for American breeders is to combine thernsmooth gaits of the Peruvian Paso horse with the colorful coat patterns of thernpinto.rnrn

They originated with a pure black Peruvian Paso stallionrnnamed Janchovilla who was bred to pinto mares. Of the resulting foals about 3/4rnof them were spotted and all of them carried the Paso gait.

rnrnThere are two different registries for this breed forrnanimals with different degrees of Paso blood. However, to register with eitherrnthe animal must have one purebred Peruvian Paso and exhibit the four-beatrnlateral gait.
