About Nicastrese GoatsAbout Nicastrese Goats

Nicastrese Goats come from Nicastro area, which today is Lamezia Terme, Italy, at the foot of Mount Reventino. They are bred in the province of Catanzaro and because of its good economic features they have spread to nearby provinces.

They have a black coat with white bosom and limbs, as well as part of the head and possibly the sides; long smooth hair in females, tougher in males. Their horns are usually present in both sexes. They are reared for both milk and meat.
