rnrnDroughtmaster cattle were developed by crossing Zebu cattlern(Bos indicus) with Shorthorn and Shorthorn/Devon cattle in order to breed cattlernthat did well in the heat and frequent droughts of Northern Queensland inrnAustralia's hot tropical north.rnrn 

rnrnDroughtmaster cattle contains approximately 50 percentrnShorthorn and 50 percent Brahman bloodlines. They are found throughout mostrnstates of Australia, although they are found mainly in Queensland.rnrn 

rnrnThey are most commonly red, but they can vary from a goldenrnhoney color to dark red. Droughtmasters are either polled or horned with thernmajority of cattle being polled. Their heat and tick tolerance, excellentrnfertility, ease of calving and quiet temperament give this breed a goodrnreputation in Australia.rnrn
